Summary: A reconstruction of the crossing of the Dutch-German frontier at Beek-Wyler, three miles south-east of Nijmegen, by an Anglo-American patrol on September 20th 1944, when British troops set foot in Germany for the first time in this war.
Description: The patrol consisting of troops from the 82nd US Airborne Division's 325th Glider Regiment(?) and a Stuart light tank from the Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry's recce. Troop advances towards the conspicuously-marked frontier posts. The patrol leaders then take time off to fraternise with two members of a Dutch family living just inside the Reich. The crew of the Stuart tank pose for the cine camera.
