Summary: Short piece on tricks to speed up the cultivation of potatoes in allotments in Britain, 1918.
Description: An allotment holder is shown making the various short-cuts. The potatoes are exposed to daylight for four or five weeks so that they germinate. After two weeks, when the sprouts have appeared, all but one or two of the strongest sprouts are rubbed off. The potatoes are then ready for planting at the first fine weather.
