Summary: 43rd (Wessex) Division's troops take part in stubborn fighting south of Cahagnes on the road to Aunay-sur-Odon.
Description: The crew of a Diamond T wrecker lorry attempts to clear away a disabled carrier which is blocking a street in the battered village of Cahagnes. A 13/18th Hussars (?) Firefly tank trails a flag of dust as it rumbles through the village. Two 1st Worcester Regiment riflemen examine what appears to be a 2.0cm Flak 30 cannon mounted on a field carriage for use against armoured vehicles. Four infantrymen from the same battalion search for snipers among ruined cottages in Benneville. In a field nearby, the corpse of a Wehrmacht NCO wearing the 2nd Class Iron Cross is found. A group of some twenty Wehrmacht prisoners are assembled in Cahagnes before being marched off to POW cages. One of 65th Anti-Tank Regiment RA's M10 Achilles 17-pounder SPGs and a 13/18th Hussars (?) Sherman pound the dust as they roll through Cahagnes. An injured horse stands motionless in a garage forecourt as flies collect around a gaping wound in the unfortunate animal's hindquarters.
