Summary:Second World War British Ministry of Information animated cartoon newsreel trailer encouraging people to save fuel.
Description:The film opens with a wireless happily playing music in an empty living room. The music is interrupted by a radio "Fuel Flash" giving advice about saving fuel. The radio advice is illustrated by the animation; "be sparing when making up a fire" (tongs take only one piece of coal from the coal scuttle); "forget about the poker for the duration" (poker walks from the fire-place and leaves the room); "ensure no heat escapes from the hot water system" (the door at the front of a coal fired boiler is firmly closed); "never use the cooker for just one dish - do all your baking in one go" (an oven door is opened to reveal just one dish inside, then many dishes fly from the kitchen table in to the oven); "be sparing with your use of electricity - switch of lights" (a reading lamp on a desk switches itself off); "switch of the wireless when not listening" (the wireless happily playing music until asked the question "are you listening? no alright" and then it switches itself off).
