A Royal Marine (RM) band entertains the capacity crowd at Wembley Stadium (Middlesex) before the start of the 1946 Cup Final between Derby County and Charlton Athletic. King George VI is introduced to the Derby County team by captain Jack Nicholas. Panoramic footage shows the capacity crowd in the stands. Charlton Athletic win the (coin) toss and kick-off. II. 'LONDON TAKES A HOLIDAY.' Panoramic footage shows large crowds enjoying the attractions of a fair held on Hampstead Heath. Crowds enjoy the Ferris wheel, gondolas, roundabouts, and chairaplane. Film footage take from a Ferris wheel seat shows teeming crowds in the fair ground. Bicycle riders compete in the Five Mile Cycle Trophy race at Herne Hill. Extracts of the race are shown.
III. 'EGYPT.' The Anglo-Egyptian Treaty Conference. British representatives, led by Lord Stansgate, enter the conference room. Sidki Pasha arrives with the Egyptian delegation. Sidki Pasha opens the meeting with an address in French on the theme of Britain and Egypt being "Two equal nations having the same common interests." Sidki Pasha continues by stressing the need for Egypt to be "master in its own house" and the overall need for collective security in the defence of liberty. Lord Stansgate and Sir Ronald Campbell (British Ambassador) converse. Lord Stansgate makes a speech in which he heralds a "new era of stability and harmony in Anglo-Egyptian relations", and announces British intention to "settle the programme of our withdrawal."
