Description: I. "Monty greets Second Front Troops." Montgomery visits Canadian troops under his command before attending an ice-hockey match between two Canadian Army teams.
II. "The sea takes charge." Views of an LST driven ashore on the rocky coast of Italy during a storm. Men on board included German POWs taken at Anzio, several of whom were killed when the vessel later exploded. Film shows others abandoning ship.
III. "Bigger and better." View of a bomb dump containing many different sizes, including 250, 4000 and 8000 lb. bombs. Film of an RAF night raid on an aircraft factory at Albert in Northern France shows the large explosion caused by a 12000 lb bomb.
IV. "America over Berlin." USAAF aircrews who took part in the first daylight raid on Berlin stand beside their planes and say a few words to the camera describing the raid ("I believe we hit the target" - bombardier). Film of Fortresses in flight is allegedly of the outward journey to Berlin (indistinct stills of smoke over a city).
