Summary:
Description: I. Mexico: President Camacho watches from a balcony in Mexico City as groups parade past, celebrating the 33rd anniversary of the 1910 Revolution "which brought new social rights to the people." Mexico is "firm in its allegiance to the United Nations and the cause of freedom."
II. Red Cross workers pack Christmas and medical parcels for POWs. Mrs Bromley Davenport, in charge, declares it a great privilege to be doing this work. POWs repatriated from Germany visit the parcelling centre and describe conditions in the camps: "average day depends on weather," "delivery of letters is getting better." "in 1940 food situation was very bad indeed," "Germans started treating us pretty decent now they have given up ghost."
III. After Portugal's decision to lease the Azores for use as a "giant aircraft carrier in the Atlantic," RN and RAF personnel and supplies arrive and camps are set up. Rear-Admiral Holt and Air Vice Marshal Brome look on. Portuguese Military and Civilian Governors, Brigadier Barboza (?) and Senor da Silva, provide a "warm welcome." Portuguese help in constructing an airfield which will enable Allied planes to patrol the whole Atlantic. PS: Christmas greetings to theatre patrons.
