The route of the procession, between Buckingham Palace and Victoria Station, is shown on a map, and the part to be lined by the Royal Navy pointed out. The Royal Navy contingent, with the Band of the Royal Marines, forms up at Wellington Barracks and marches to their designated location. The importance of flexibility and adapting to unexpected circumstances is emphasised when the Band of the Scots Guards is encountered, marching in the opposite direction. The Royal Navy take up their positions, the Queen, with the President of Finland, his wife, the Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles and Princess Anne, pass by in carriages. The sailors are reformed and marched back to barracks.
