Summary:How good housekeeping and home maintenance can save your home in a nuclear attack.
Description:The film (which is an extended version in colour of the TV version (USA 121)) uses footage from three experiments in the Nevada nuclear proving ground to demonstrate how clean, tidy, well-maintained homes are less likely to suffer from catastrophic fires when caught in a nuclear explosion. The tests show wooden fences in various states of repair, two typical domestic rooms, one neat and tidy, the other cluttered, and finally three miniature houses, one old and surrounded by junk, one badly weathered, and the one in the middle clean and freshly painted. On site cameras record the results of a nearby nuclear explosion and the onset of fires in each case. The presenter urges the viewer to clean up and tidy up.
