Summary: Glasgow Corporation Tramways men parade through centre of city prior to their incorporation into the 15th Battalion, Highland Light Infantry, on Sunday 13 September 1914.
Description: Men of the Glasgow Corporation Tramways Department march in their smart "Tramway Green" drivers' and conductors' uniforms through George Square bearing the St Andrews Cross flag and preceded by a kilted band playing bagpipes. Glasgow police hold spectators back. Men are inspected by Provost of Glasgow, Sir Daniel M Stevenson accompanied by James Dalrymple of the Department, with Bailie McMillan in the background. Men wave their caps and give three cheers to the King. Men then disperse and play up before the camera.
