- Summary: Armour and motorised infantry of the 2nd and 1st Battalions the Grenadier Guards advance from their assembly areas west of the Orne river to a point near Cagny.
- Description: The 2nd Grenadier Guard's armour moves up past 6th Airborne Division's derelict Horsa gliders towards the Orne river crossings at Bénouville and is joined by fascine-carrying AVREs attached to the Grenadiers' RHQ squadron. The cameraman films the passage across the Canal de Caen and the Orne river from one of the AVREs. Both Grenadier battalions advance to the Caen-Troarn railway near Demouville during which time they come under fire from the Banneville-la-Campagne-Sannerville area, held by the 21st Panzer Division, and several tanks are set on fire. Dazed by the massive preliminary aerial bombardment, German troops come forward in ones and twos to surrender. Several 2nd Battalion Welsh Guards Cromwells join the Grenadiers' armour and motorised infantry. Near Le Prieure farm, a wounded soldier is driven by a Frenchman in a captured car into the 1st Grenadiers' lines; more prisoners give themselves up to the Grenadier Guardsmen. 2nd Welsh Guards Cromwells come under fire as they close on Le Prieure wood.
