Summary: An ENSA company, "Let's Pretend", and a US army "swing band" present the first Allied concert party to be held on German soil.
Description: The cameraman examines a sign, "Reichs Grenze" (German frontier), at Wyler, a village situated some six miles east of Nijmegen astride the Dutch-German border. Watched by an audience of US and British troops and press photographers, the ENSA troupe-four girls (in evening dresses) and two men (in dinner jackets) - sings "Bye-Bye Blues" to the accompaniment of the 82nd US Airborne Division's "swing band" in the grounds of a villa reputedly owned by a cousin of Hermann Goering. Afterwards, the singers (now wearing uniform) leave with a British soldier as an escort and pose for the cameraman around their Commer(?) lorry.
The ENSA company performs their "Bye-Bye Blues" number to their Allied audience; British troops watching the show are seen applauding and laughing. As they leave, the singers pass the German frontier sign.
