- Title: VISIT OF THE MODERATOR OF THE CHURCH OF SCOTLAND TO WESTERN FRONT [Allocated Title]
- Film Number: A70 217-5
- Other titles:
- Summary: The Right Reverend E J Hagen, Moderator of the Church of Scotland, visits Scottish troops on 2nd Army's front along the River Maas in the Netherlands.
- Description: START 00:06:57 Unedited footage filmed on a dull but dry winter's day at Sevenum in the province of Limburg showing a Scottish pipe and drum band marching along a track next to a sportsfield marked off by white tape, accompanied by several curious Dutch children. Senior officers from the 15th (Scottish) Division - including, possibly, the divisional padre - and the Moderator of the Church of Scotland, wearing a dark coat and soft hat, watch the band perform on the sportsfield. The final shot shows an extremely tall officer, 15th (Scottish) Division's commander, Major-General C M Barber, talking across the Moderator to another officer whose cap badge possibly identifies him as an officer in the Seaforth Highlanders.
