Description: Drums of fresh water and jerrycans are unloaded (from LCT 112 and two others, men ready below deck, LCT 158 drops anchor) onto a beach in North Africa, an example of the way the 8th Army was supported by seaborne supplies in its dash from Alamein to Benghazi. The speed of this advance is suggested by the view of an Axis airfield with abandoned unharmed Bf 109 planes (of Schnellkampfgeschwader 210) and ammunition (whistling bombs). Royal Air Force airmen paint on RAF markings and paint out swastika on a Stuka, a Henschel 126 and a Messerschmitt 109. A sign "Under entirely new management" is erected. A pilot drives up to the Stuka in a German people's car (Kübelwagen), "the famous vehicle the German workers paid for and never got". The Stuka and Bf 109 then take off. Aerial film shows Tripoli harbour being bombed and sea-level film covers the wrecked ships in Benghazi harbour, one still burning, demonstrating the evidence of Allied airpower. British troops move through deserted streets in Benghazi and raise the White Ensign. Montgomery visits the town.
