Description: I. "Man to the rescue." A porcupine and stag, both trapped in an aqueduct pipe in the western desert of the USA, are lifted out of the pipe and set free.
II. "Scharnhorst - the summing up." Captain of the cruiser HMS Norfolk tells the camera how his vessel was the first to sight, attack and hit the Scharnhorst. On board the Duke of York, flagship of the Home Fleet, Vice-Admiral Burnett emphasises the efficiency of the officers and men under his command before Admiral Sir Bruce Fraser pays general tribute to the courage and achievement of all RN personnel.
III. "Roosevelt's 1944 Message." View of Roosevelt spending Christmas at his Hyde Park home surrounded by his family and grandchildren precedes President's broadcast: "United Nations have no intention of enslaving Germany... want to rid her of Master-race-theories ... will use international force to keep peace."
