Summary:Navy Instructional film emphasising the importance of the correct drills in case of nuclear, biological or chemical attack. Set mainly onboard the type 42 destroyer HMS Birmingham (D.86), the film shows the correct procedure for putting on and removing protective suits against chemical and biological weapons, the importance of taking cover when caught on deck by a nuclear explosion, and brace positions. Decontamination is also discussed. The film finishes with several scenes of simulated illness resulting from exposure to chemical or biological agents, and simulated injuries resulting from exposure to nuclear blast. There are several shots of real nuclear explosions, and an aerial view of the type 42 destroyer HMS Sheffield (D.80), burnt out after being hit by an Argentinean Exocet missile during the Falklands War.
