Description: I. "Royal visitors for crippled youngsters." The Queen and Princesses visit the Heritage Craft School for handicapped children at Chailey, Sussex and are presented with gifts.
II. "Famous liner takes GIs home." US troops embark on the 'Queen Elizabeth' in the Clyde, while the sister ship 'Queen Mary' sails into New York harbour past the Statue of Liberty. A barrage balloon flies low over the liner which is packed with returning GIs.
III. "America's welcome to General Ike." Eisenhower receives a kiss from his wife as he steps from the plane which has brought him back to the USA. He then drives in triumph through Washington, receives the Oak Leaf Cluster to his DSM from Truman and later visits New York, driving through the city with Mayor La Guardia and being showered with confetti before making a speech in which he modestly declares the reason for the rejoicing is not the celebration of one individual but the realisation "that a nasty job is done and finished."
