Bad weather ("one of the few things all Berlin has in common"): flooded streets, men acting as human ferries. c. Bad weather reduces airlift pilots' visibility: a Skymaster on fire after overshooting runway. d. Visit of USAF Secretary Symington and Commander General Vandenberg to Berlin. e. Interview with LDP leader Schwennicke. f. Anthony Eden, on return to England, speaks of Berliners' desire that Western powers remain. g. Arrival of some of the 60 USAF Superfortresses transferred to England.
II. Salzburg Festival of 1948. Establishing shots of the city, distinguished international guests (including Austrian Chancellor Dr Renner, and Helene Thimig), highlights of the festival ('Jedermann', 'Fidelio' etc).
III. Olympic Games. Film of bicycle sprint, rowing at Henley, the marathon, and 4 x 400 m. relays.
