Description: Opening captions A MESSAGE FROM THE GPO. HAVE YOU LEFT YOUR HOUSE EMPTY? A postman carrying a bundle of letters knocks on a house door (studio set). He notices a small piece of paper pinned to the door "Gone Away". Talking directly to the audience the postman assures the public that "the Post Office does its best, because in wartime letters mean something special" The postman hold up letters to the camera explaining that one is from a someone on active service, one is from a prisoner of war and another may be someone wanting to know if their mother is alright after the last raid. The postman continues "if they don't get an answer they will worry". The film explains that the Post Office will contact the Assistance Board and nearest Rest Centre to try and find the new address and if no information is found the letter will be returned to the sender. The film ends with a direct appeal from the postman "When you change your address don't delay. Go to the nearest Post Office and get a form for redirection" (Brief shot of a woman's hand completing the relevant form.) "It costs you nothing. We'll do the rest".
