Summary:
Description: I. "RAF prang Turin." Map of Italy shows Turin's importance to the Axis powers as a railway centre for southward bound supplies. This is the target hit by British-based Lancasters in the "heaviest raid so far." Night aerial film shows blazes and explosions far below.
II. "New Guinea - air power the key." Map of North Eastern coast of New Guinea indicates the small coastal regions held by the Japanese which the RAAF is constantly attacking. Members of the RAAF are seen in a tent in a jungle clearing and afterwards on various sorties: CAC Wirraway aircraft fly over Mangrove Island in order to radio back the correct range for artillery gunners bombarding the small island; Boston and Beaufighter aircraft "whose pilots know the jungle as well as they know their own back gardens" fly over jungle covered hills before attacking with bombs and gun fire the coastal area of Malabang; on another sortie Mubo, "since captured", is bombed. Further evidence proving the "importance of air power in driving back the Japanese" includes a transport ship wrecked off the coast, damaged Zero-Sens on a landing strip and a hut ("local Jap HQ") on fire.
