Summary: A prolonged lesson in the need for tyre-economy in the war situation, and in procedures to prolong the life of tyres during use and to ensure their usefulness for salvage or retreading at the end.
Description: "Everywhere the Allied war machine runs on wheels": the theme is illustrated with pictures of a wide variety of military equipment, then developed into a general plea for tyre economy. Brief coverage of the official machinery of tyre issue (Authorised Tyre Depots) and reclamation (Central Inspection Depots, a retreading plant) is followed by specific instructions (eg checking of pressure; removal of stones from treads; wheel alignment; care of tyres on idle vehicles; loading; speed, steering and braking etc). The various points are first illustrated with film, later repeated in cartoons by Masen. An effort to introduce a note of competition between haulage fleets (proportion of returned tyres good enough for retreading) leads into a final appeal to patriotism "Keep the UN rolling on to Victory".
