Description: I. At Veghel, the cameraman examines an ANWB sign giving directions to Eindhoven, Nijmegen, s'Hertogenbosch and Helmond etc. Nearby, Sextons and an M10 Achilles from 50th (Northumbrian) Division units cross the (Zuidwillemsvaart Canal on 101st US Airborne) Division's bridge while southbound traffic uses the 'ophaalbrug' alongside it. The cameraman focuses on northbound traffic using the American bridge - notably Crusader AA tanks (tracks and wheels visible only) a 2nd Army HQ Humber heavy utility staff car, despatch riders, Bedford OY and Austin K5 3-tonners from 30th Corps and Guards Armoured Division RASC units and examines the wooden planks and steel girders with which the crossing was assembled. The cameraman surveys Veghel's canal harbour, in which a Dutchman is seen chopping firewood on his barge, and examines Dutch, German, British and US route signs (showing the way for US transport units supplying (82nd and 101st Airborne Divisions and indicating the) presence of 30th Corps, 7th Armoured Division and 50th (Northumbrian) Division headquarters and first, second and third echelon units) in and around a road junction where a 'Redcap' is seen on point duty.
