Summary: Army Instructional film describing the composition and establishment of a battery of Abbot self-propelled guns as the unit stands drawn up on a parade ground. The first advance party then moves off, carrying out a reconnaissance of a new firing position and surveying positions for each battery component. The second advance party then arrives, beginning the work of establishing a command post and the communications infrastructure needed by the main body of the battery. The guns themselves then arrive, take up position and prepare for action. As firing commences, the Gun Position Officer makes a local defence plan in case of infantry or armoured attack and briefs his team accordingly.
