II. "Grand Alliance." Eden is met on arrival at Moscow station by Molotov and greeted by a guard of honour. Russians are said to have praised British war material and Eden later describes the note of confident resolution he observed in the USSR.
III. "Halfaya stormed." Paramount News cameraman F W Bayliss films the bombing of Halfaya Pass prior to its capture by South African infantry. Italian General De Georgis surrenders to General De Villiers. Views of released British prisoners and captured Italian and German forces.
IV. "Cripps on Russia." Cripps speaks at the Bristol Hippodrome of Britain's anti-Soviet bias which Hitler exploited before the war. He says Russians have no compunction in getting rid of inefficient or older people not fitted for the new problems of modern Warfare, then attacks the group and class private interests which are hindering Britain's war effort.
V. "Mines in millions." Production of mines in a former car factory.
