Description: I. "World Trade Unions Conference." General Secretary of TUC Sir Walter Citrine opens the conference in London's County Hall, then TUC Chairman George Isaacs welcomes the delegates, praising the military achievement of the United Nations and declaring unity to be the aim of those attending the conference.
II. "Balloon Command farewell." Item opens with a general tribute to work of Balloon Command, especially the contribution of the WAAFS, before showing Air Minister Sinclair addressing members at a farewell parade.
III. "Ships that went East." Film now released recalls the launching of HMS Indefatigable by the Dowager Marchioness of Milford Haven (mother of Mountbatten, who stands beside her). Ship is later inspected at Portsmouth by King, seen on deck with Rear Admiral Sir Philip Vian, before sailing for the East. Another vessel also now engaged against the Japanese is HMS King George V, visited before departure in a Scottish port by the Royal Family.
