Description: The unedited film consists of 12 spools shot by WELT IM FILM cameraman Nath, each preceded by his slate but occurring out of sequence; some shots are further displaced. The spools show 1. (27 August) The party is met at Frankfurt airport by Stuttgart's Oberburgermeister (Dr Klett) and other German and Allied officials, and sets off by car for Stuttgart, pausing en route for a picnic and 2. to view bomb damage at Pforzheim (Councillor Marshall lays his "welcome" bouquet on bombsite grave). (28 August) Formal speeches of welcome in Stuttgart; 3. Councillor Marshall presents a salver to his hosts. A tour of Stuttgart, viewing reconstruction work (a large church) 4. (29 August) Tourism in the country outside Stuttgart - the palace at Ludwigsburg; Schiller's birthplace at Marbach. 5/6. (30 August) Visit to the Daimler-Benz factory; a swim in a public (mineral?) baths. 7/8. Visit to 'Lager Schlotwiese', a shanty town housing (?) displaced persons. 9. (31 August) Inspection of a depot for re-cycling rubble as building material; 10 (1 September) Visit to fire station (equipment demonstrated). 11. (2 September) Meal in a restaurant (?).
