Description: Film opens with shots of fires in London during the Blitz, and the resulting devastation, followed by shots of the clearing of bombed areas (using traction engines and bulldozers) for the dual purpose of "removing wounds" and reclaiming metal, both girders and smaller fittings, from the ruins (including bombed House of Commons). Film then shows railway transport of scrap, and some scrapyard scenes, (electro-magnet, etc). Having thus set the scene, the film points out that America is no longer sending her scrap, so Britain must look for new sources (eg old pitheads) and makes a direct appeal to the public - railings and chains on private property particularly singled out. Film then shows scrap re-processed into steel, and so into ships, guns, shells etc: "agents of retribution for the Nazis."
