Description: This film is a slightly extended version of THE GREAT FIRE OF LONDON 29TH DEC 1940 (LFB 51), with additional (presumably staged - see note) material showing firemen struggling to bring hoses ashore from the river at low tide and scenes inside a fire service control room, as well as a tailpiece with shots of a fireman's funeral and of the Old Bailey with the commentator's remarks "look out Hitler, we saved the Old Bailey that night".
