Description: I. "Advance US Bomber Station in China." Aerial film of a USAAF daylight attack on Haiphong in Indo-China. Liberators land on an airfield in China; damaged planes are repaired by Chinese in a large workshop and reassembled outside. Chinese seen leaving compound after finishing work.
II. "Arab Princes visit Britain's front line." Emirs Feisal and Khalid, sons of Ibn Saud and the former his Foreign Minister, look at Dover's coastal defences. Commentary mentions "Britain's sincere friendship for their people and the whole Arab cause."
III. "Lebanese President opens new road." President Khoury accompanied by 9th Army Commander General Holmes and British Minister General Spears officially opens the Chekka bypass (to coastal route between Tripoli and Beirut). Lebanese crisis which followed "now settled."
IV. "USS 'Lafayette' afloat." Salvaged hull of former luxury liner Normandie now afloat in New York.
V. "Sunken cruiser fights on." Bombs fall close to USS Savannah during Battle of Salerno; crew fight fire on board and twenty minutes later guns in action again.
VI. "Mary's at home for ack-ack troops." Mary Pickford serves tea in Beverly Hills to 200 ack-ack men touring USA. Everyone sings "Lambeth Walk" (actual sound).
