Description: I. "Mr Attlee addresses you." Election broadcast by the leader of the Labour Party in which he attacks the Conservative Party's claim to be the "National" Party before going on to outline the appeal of his own party ("essentially a moral one"). "Conservatives belong to two classes only, those who are born rich and those who have achieved riches." The Labour Party on the contrary group a "remarkable range of experience" and is dedicated to the twin aims of "social justice and economic democracy." Address is preceded by brief glimpse of Attlee in garden with wife and daughter.
II. "Hollywood high-ups arrive." Film producers and executives en route for Germany stop off in Britain and lunch with film critics. Film chiefs seen standing (in uniform) beside their plane include Jack Warner, Darryl Zanuck, Harry Cohn, Joseph Mankiewicz and (?) Rathbone, Barney Balaban and Worth (of RKO, Paramount and Universal respectively).
