Description: I. "Belgian holiday coast as rest centre." British troops relax at Blankenberghe where they are seen dancing with local girls, playing ball and in deckchairs on the beach watching two "ballerinas," and having a dip in the sea.
II. "US C-in-C welcomes British Fleet." Admiral Nimitz comes aboard HMS King George V at Guam, inspects the ship's company and then makes a speech referring to those "newspaper stories that Americans did not want British to come into the Pacific. I assure you those statements were without foundation." Crew give "Three Cheers!" as he departs.
III. "The Barham's end." Film of the sinking on 25 November 1941 of HMS Barham, not released till now for security reasons. U-Boat penetrated destroyer screen and torpedoed ship, seen listing, keeling over and then exploding after the magazine blew up. 859 officers and men dead. Newsreel takes this opportunity to pay tribute to the Navy, whose wartime activity is perhaps not as fully covered on film as the contributions of the other services.
