Description: These two cans of (unedited) material show: (Reel 1) Mr Eden's speech (through an interpreter) to an audience of distinguished Berliners and journalists, expressing the solidarity of the Opposition in Britain with the Government and its allies and with the citizens of West Berlin in their stand against "methods wholly alien to our conception of democracy" (Film with original soundtrack of most of the speech). Excerpts from the speeches of gratitude by Franz Neumann and two other Berliners. (Reel 2, mute) Material associated with the previous can: crowds outside building waiting to cheer the arrival of Eden and others (Louise Schroeder), remaining in spite of rain to cheer them on their departure (Neumann, Suhr?); (2 apparently extraneous shots: a German newspaper cartoon and an airlift scene); alternative angles, audience reaction shots etc. from the meeting shown in reel 1.
