Title:WELT IM FILM UNEDITED MATERIAL : 'Fuerstenfeldbruck Airfield' story [Allocated Title]
Film Number:WIF 463
Other titles:
Summary: Unedited film taken by 3 WELT IM FILM cameramen covering the arrival of Shooting Stars (Lockheed P-80 jet fighters) to strengthen the USAF in West Germany as the Berlin blockade intensified. (Story reported in Issue No. 167, and in the Special Report "DIE KRISE DAUERT AN", WIF 407).
Description: The 'story' is comprehensively covered, with film of virtually every stage from first over-flight through landing, taxiing and 'parking' to public viewing of the aircraft and press interviews with the commanding officer, all taken from several angles and at a variety of ranges; besides the event immediately reported, the film gives some idea of the general appearance of Fürstenfeldbruck airbase (the other aircraft stationed there, etc) and contains many potentially useful close-ups of the Shooting Star and of the insignia of the 3 squadrons involved. (61st-63rd Fighter Interceptor).
