Summary: I. "Men, women and planes spread the war effort." Production becomes more and more important as the war spreads over the globe. Various planes from US factories (Boston, Flying Fortress, Baltimore, Curtiss Mohawk, Chesapeake, Fairchild 41, Pitcairn autogyro) stand on a British airfield. Protective grease, with which the planes are coated for transport to Britain, is washed off with warm paraffin in hangar. Women do much of the work; directed by the men they succeed at jobs once regarded as highly skilled labour. Other women at an air force training centre make radio sets and WAAFs learn how to process film and load and unload different types of reconnaissance camera.
II. "General Auchinleck in the Western Desert." In the Western Desert General Auchinleck inspects a small parachute sabotage squadron. The paratroops practi,se jumping from a moving truck and afterwards drop from a plane (Whitley) filmed by Paramount cameraman Fred Bayliss (with Eyemo strapped to him) who descends with them.
