Description: French airmen drink beer at the mess bar while others pack up their belongings. The "Devonian" band plays at a dance attended by the airmen and WAAFs. Kitbags are loaded onto a truck and transferred to a Boston with a Croix de Lorraine marking. A sign in French announcing the date of departure for France as 13 October 1944 causes much excitement. Hoisting of Tricolour on one pole and RAF flag on another. Crews climb into the Bostons and take off. Another crew is filmed standing in front of their plane. Officers enter and emerge from the officer's mess.
