Inside the castle lie the corpses of 700 Poles murdered by the retreating Germans; women weep in despair. Troops of the Red Army including Poles fighting with the Russian forces are cheered by crowds as they march through the town.
II. "News in flashes." a. British girls married to Canadians travel by train to a port where they board a liner bound for their new home. b. Demonstration of the new ASR equipment carried by Flying Fortresses, a lifeboat dropped by parachute to survivors in the sea. c. Distant view of a Japanese plane diving into the side of a USN vessel off Leyte in the Philippine Islands. d. MacArthur looks on as another landing strip is laid.
III. "The other man's job. Demand soars for TLC engines." Scenes of the assembly of diesel engines for Tank Landing Craft, more of which will be required for the offensive against the Japanese. Assembled engines are fitted into TLCs. Item concludes by showing Churchill tank boarding a TLC and a Bren carrier coming ashore from one of the craft.
