Summary: Scenes from the early training of RAF aircrew.
Description: PT and games - including standing on the head - are designed to improve reflexes and fitness to fly, rather than build muscles. New recruits are issued with kit, fitted with parachutes. Flying instruction is given in a biplane and link-trainer; navigation training; first solo take-off and landing. The film then shows some aspects of intermediate and advanced training - for bombers, the AML trainer, bomb practice from the air, and use of the camera obscura; for fighters, gunnery practice in the rocking nacelle. Pilots also practice night takeoff and landing.
