Description: (Roll 44 (continued), 14/3/1945) A USAAF Liberator comes in to land on the short airstrip at Vis, Yugoslavia; a second Liberator with one engine stopped touches down, overshoots the runway and up-ends in a cloud of dust; a third Liberator lands successfully; a P-38 Lightning comes in with one engine stopped. (Roll 45, 16/3/1945) Close up shot of flares ready for use outside the control tower; shots of ground crew looking up; a Liberator lands; aircrew lounge about below the control tower; an RAF sergeant speaks into the microphone in the control tower; a Lightning lands. (Roll 46, 16/3/1945) A flare gun is loaded and fired from the control tower; a Liberator lands; an RAF sergeant signals with a red lamp; further shots of the control tower and ground crew; an Airacobra with nose wheel up slews along the runway and comes to a neat stop in front of the camera (in the control tower); closer shots show the pleased pilot; a squadron of BAF Spitfires fly over; a shot from the hills above the harbour with aircraft flying over.
