- Description: I. 'ARABIAN PRINCE VISITS CADETS.' Emir Feisal of Saudi Arabia visits the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis in Maryland. Cadet officers of the "Regiment of Midshipmen" perform a march past as Feisal talks to the Superintendent of the academy, Admiral Bierdal USN. II. 'ALLIED ARMIES ON THE ROAD TO ROME.' An item covering the United States (US) 5th Army advance towards Rome. US 105mm howitzers fire at high elevation from the cover of camouflage netting. Smoke rises from a bombardment at the far side of a valley. US M4 Sherman tanks drive past the camera position at speed (the M4's carry an additional .50-inch air-cooled Browning heavy machine gun for anti-aircraft defence). US M10 Wolverine tank destroyers raise dust as they pass through an unidentified Italian hamlet. A US caterpillar tractor tows a 155mm field gun past the camera position. General Dwight D Eisenhower talks to General Mark W Clark (Commander US Fifth Army). Berthed United States Navy (USN) Tank Landing Craft fly barrage balloons in Naples Harbour. Brief footage shows Allied "Liberty" ships at sea. Close-up footage shows Randolph Churchill wearing the uniform of an officer in the Special Air Service (SAS). A USN rating wearing flak jacket and helmet mans a 20mm Oerlikon anti-aircraft cannon. British Eighth Army M4 Sherman tanks, Jeeps and motorcycles drive off USN Tank Landing Craft (Salerno ?). III. 'RAIDS ON BURMA.' This item duplicates Item III of WPN 132. IV. 'THE MOSCOW CONFERENCE.' This item duplicates Item IV of WPN 132.
