Description: Major-General Thomas Rennie GOC 51st (Highland) Division sitting in the front of his jeep and smoking a pipe, watches Sherman tanks from the East Riding Yeomanry's 'A' squadron drive through Rouen; his ADC, Lieutenant Douglas Tweedie, in the driver's seat listens for radio messages through headphones. A lance-corporal in the Military Police directs two Shermans and a Firefly from the tank squadron towards the Place de Napoleon an AFPU photographer, Sergeant Wilkes, winds the film in his camera on in the background. Children try to leap on board a Bedford QLT lorry carrying infantrymen from the 2nd or 5th Seaforth Highlanders in order to scrounge chocolate or cigarettes; the RASC driver momentarily opens his door to see what they are up to. Civilians outside the church of St Ouen wave to the occupants of a Fordson 30-cwt truck and a Bedford QLT Lorry as they pass by on their way northwards to Doudeville and St-Valery-en-Caux.
