Summary: Humorous Navy Instructional film, using an adaptation of the Frost Report's 1966-67 Class Sketch to explain the Navy's new computerised pay system. A Captain, a Lieutenant and an Able Seaman find that they cannot understand the S.50, the old statement of pay accounts issued to Naval personnel. The Navy's pay computer, based at HMS Centurion in Gosport, explains in a sultry female voice how the new system will work, the main components of the computer system, how to read a new pay statement and the advantages of the new system over the old. An officer takes money onboard the County Class destroyer HMS Norfolk (D.21), secures it in a safe and later issues it to sailors at a pay parade. The old system of shipboard accounting is also explained briefly, highlighting its shortcomings.
