Description: An MP on traffic duty directs British road convoys through the streets of Caumont. Some of the town's former inhabitants who fled to safety when the warring armies arrived shortly after D- Day return to their homes, bringing their meagre possessions with them. A cafe proprietor sets his house in order by stacking the remaining stools and chairs and then sweeps dust and debris out of his battered establishment.
