Summary: With the summit of Mont Pincon firmly in 43rd (Wessex) Division's hands, 214th Brigade relieves 129th Brigade and sets about clearing Mont Pincon's southern slopes of its remaining German defenders.
Description: Several troop-laden Universal carriers from 214th Brigade take the road from La Variniere (?) to the summit of Mont Pincon where they will relieve 129th Brigade. Against a backdrop typical of the picturesque 'Suisse Normande' region, five prisoners of war are brought back at the double by their 43rd Division escorts. Armour serving with the 4/7th Dragoon Guards (?) moves up to join 214th Brigade for an attack on the village of Le Plessis-Grimoult fixed for later on in the day. A group of Wehrmacht NCOs is given a ride to the nearest POW compound on a Bren gun carrier. 43rd Division's transport engaged in bringing up reinforcements and supplies raises dust as it ascends the steep slopes of Mont Pincon. A four-man detachment from the 5th Battalion Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry advances across a field in 'bocage' country in search of German stragglers and snipers.
