Summary:I. On the eastern fringes of the Fôret de Brotonne at Heurteauville, units of the 1st Belgian Independent Brigade are ferried across the Seine to Jamieges (?) by 757th Field Company RE; sappers watch a Scammell heavy breakdown tractor drive onto a Class B Bailey close-support raft which already has a Staghound AA armoured car and a Universal carrier on board. Under the supervision of an RE sergeant, the raft makes its way across the Seine; once it reaches its destination, the ramps are lowered and the Universal carrier tows the armoured car off onto the shore.

II. Further downstream at La Mailleraye-sur-Seine , where the Germans ferried troops and equipment across the Seine, Mack 5-ton and Scammell heavy breakdown tractors from a 12th Corps REME unit haul away wrecked German half-tracks and lorries blocking access to the water's edge.
III. At Heurteauville, the Staghound AA armoured car, the Universal carrier, an RE motorcyclist and the Scammell board the Bailey close-support raft; powered by outboard motors, the raft (with two carriers, the Staghound, the Scammell and the despatch rider on board) leaves for Jumieges (?).
