Title:A V-1 FLYING-BOMB LAUNCHING SITE IN NORTHERN FRANCE (PART 2) [Allocated Title]
Film Number:A70 148-8
Other titles:
Summary: Additional material showing the V-1 flying bomb site located at Vignacourt in the Somme Valley.
Description: Most of the flying bomb stores and launching equipment has been destroyed, by either allied bombing or German demolition, or alternatively dismantled and evacuated by Flakregiment 155's Luftwaffe personnel. Still standing, although somewhat battered, is the concrete fuel-store's bunker; nearby lies a cluster of hydrogen-peroxide bottles used to propel the V-1 up the launching catapult. The 'ski-site' itself is in relatively good condition and so is a trolley which would normally transport the flying bomb's fuselage from the site's bomb magazine to the catapult.
