Summary: Documentary film showing a visit by the Queen to the Postal and Courier Depot (PCD) at Mill Hill, London, on 16 July 1982. The Queen is greeted by the Vice Lord Lieutenant for Greater London, unveils a memorial entitled 'The Letter Home' (a replica of one that stands at Paddington Station) and meets soldiers in the uniforms of men serving with a Royal Engineers Field Post Office, c.1882. She tours the Depot sorting office, showing particular interest in the section dealing with mail for the Falklands Task Force, sends a letter to Prince Andrew, then serving in the South Atlantic, and views museum exhibits.
