Summary: Newsreel film of the Silver Jubilee Royal Fleet Review off Portsmouth on 28th June 1977.
Description: After scenes of the 1935 Fleet Review under King George V, including scenes of Swordfish aircraft, the German pocket battleship Graf Spee and British battleships HMS Rodney, HMS Royal Oak and HMS Queen Elizabeth, the Queen and Royal Family are shown on the deck of the Royal Yacht Britannia as she proceeds on the review route. The Leander Class frigates HMS Galatea (F.18) and HMS Phoebe (F.42), assault ship HMS Fearless (L.10), aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal (R.09) and Australian aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne all appear, followed by a flypast of 110 Fleet Air Arm helicopters. The Queen, with Prince Phillip, the Prime Minister James Callaghan with his wife, and Lord Mountbatten, boards HMS Ark Royal to dine with the officers, and the film ends with fireworks over the assembled ships.
