Summary: Armoured fighting vehicles from both the Guards Armoured Division and the 8th Armoured Brigade move up to the front line.
Description: M10 Achilles 17-pounder self-propelled guns serving with the Guards Division's anti-tank regiment, the 21st Anti-Tank Regiment RA, pound the dust in bocage country as they move up towards 8th Corps frontline along a tape-marked lane through a minefield between Caumont and St Martin des Besaces. East of the Bois du Homme, two Sherwood Rangers Yeomanry Shermans overtake an overturned 15th Recce. Regiment Humber armoured car. Shermans belonging to the 2nd Armoured Battalion Irish Guards' No. 1 Squadron together with several of the regiment's recce, troop Stuart (Honey) tanks and M5 half-tracks and Humber scout cars make their way across country towards Point 192 beyond St Martin des Besaces. Several tanks have 2-inch mortars attached to the commander's hatch ring in place of the usual .30 calibre or .50 calibre Browning machine-guns.
