Summary:Second World War British Ministry of Information newsreel trailer advising householders how to avoid frozen pipes in winter.
Description:The film open with a brief travelling shot along a snowy, deserted hillside road and then cuts to man seated in his living room reading a newspaper. Water drips from the ceiling above on to the man's head followed by a brief shot of water leaking out from bath taps, with the commentary "Did this happen to you last winter? Whether or not it did, avoid frozen pipes. Fuel in short and must be economised, so take double care with frost precautions". The commentary warns that draughts are a chief danger from unfelted roofs and open windows and offer the following advice (all illustrated by a very brief sequence of film) - close windows, put a mat or rug by the door, fill in cracks in walls, cover the water tank with boards, if under the sink - turn your stop cock off at night, if located outside the house - do not touch it as firefighter may need access to your water supply, turn off any running or dripping taps. The commentary concludes "Take frost precautions now. Don't wait until the cold weather". The film ends with another travelling shot along a snowy road and the title "AS YOUR LOCAL SUPPLY UNDERTAKING FOR ADVICE"
