- Description: I. US Army tug closes on cameraship. MS pan from the port bow of AA vessel HMS Golden Eagle (4-236) as an HDML passes her at speed. LS of a Dakota towing a Horsa glider low over the water. Pan over the invasion fleet - laden LCTs and LCH 100, with Dido Class cruiser, HMCS Sioux, and a second destroyer in the background. Track past LCT(3) 7067 and 7080, rolling heavily in the swell. Track past HMCS Sioux (R.64) riding at anchor - motor minesweepers and LCT in the background. MLS off the starboard bow of HMS Cattistock (L.35), with HMS Bulolo in the background, and pan to MS of LBF 14. II. MS off the port bow of HMS Argonaut of Force K. LS to Arromanches coastline. LS of bombers flying inland. The cameraship takes a DUKW in tow, crewmen and supernumeraries (including a beachgroup signaller) crowding to the stern to look down on the amphibian. The DUKW's two USN crewmen come onboard. MS off the port bow of US Army ST. 782 tug towing rescued DUKW. Sequence showing the sinking of the first blockship, numbered 504 (ex-Alynbank) - tugs and a HDML(SY) attend - HMS Apollo passes in the background - Rhino crosses before camera. III. Formations of Invaders and Marauders fly overhead. LCP(SY) 177 passes across screen. From a position on the shore, the camera pans 180 degrees from a LS of the anchorage, over beached LCTs, to the cliff line and a LA.MS of La Tourelle. LS to the ships lying offshore - tugs, a liberty ship, Alynbank, modified Flower Class corvette (?), etc. Final MS of LCTs unloading onto the beach.
